Stopped in for a late afternoon coffee on the way north. Saw the amazing cakes and pies. Lemon meringue. Orange lime cake. Take away. Gotta go. . On the way to the door seeing delicious looking dinners being served, happily. Looked at the creative menu, we’ll come back. And the flat white is really good.
Honestly, we picked this place solely because it was the closest place and we were hungry-and boy am I thankful that we did. I ordered the fish and chips and my travel companion got the soup and sandwich combination. The food was delicious but it was the staff that made it truly special. They were incredibly warm and friendly, funny and full of good advice. They absolutely made it our favorite lunch spot on our trip!
Great cafe with excellent selection of hot snacks and homemade cakes. Very good gluten free options. We really enjoyed our lunch, the homemade soup and toastie was delicious. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Very reasonably priced too. Would recommend to anyone.
Visiting this place was like finding a hidden gem between mostly average cafes in the UK. In regards to food quality, hospitality and ambience this cafe outperforms their colleagues in the brand by a bunch. We had lovely meals (haddock, grilled camambert) & dessert (chocolate brownies) and our needs were constantly monitored by the friendliest staff. Thank you for making us feel so welcomed!
Lovely little establishment with sweet staff and even sweeter desserts. Stopped in for breakfast but couldn't pass up the ginger parkin w custard sauce. They so generously shared the recipe! Don't miss it.
We drove through this small, beautiful town and decided to stop for a quick brunch. The creamy garlic mushrooms on bruschetta were rich, flavourful, and absolutely lovely. The fish and chips were outstanding, and top tier, with a light, buttery coating and fresh, moist fish that melted in the mouth.The meal was truly savoury and satisfying. Special thanks to the friendly and patient lady who took our order and served us with genuine warmth. A thoroughly enjoyable experience all around.
I first visited a couple of years ago and had the chance to go back today. The coffee, cake, and service is just as good as I remember. The coffee is particularly good here. Lovely and strong, without being bitter. Definitely recommend!
Lovely food and even lovelier people! We stopped in as a lunch break during our John O’Groats trail hike and they were wonderful. They helped us fill water, were great with our dog, and gave us plenty of delicious food to fuel us for the afternoon thank you so much!
